Web design services for Chattanooga
Three ways I work with small businesses. Pick what you need — or start with the free audit and figure it out from there.
Free site audit
If you already have a website, the free audit is the best place to start. I'll go through your existing site and put together a plain-English written report covering:
- Performance — how fast your pages load on mobile and desktop, and what's slowing them down
- Mobile experience — whether your site actually works on the phone (where most of your customers are)
- SEO basics — title tags, meta descriptions, structured data, sitemap, robots.txt
- Accessibility — whether customers using screen readers, keyboards, or other assistive tech can use your site
- Conversion — where visitors are likely getting confused or giving up before they call you
It's free. No obligation. No pushy follow-up. If your site is in good shape, I'll tell you so. If it isn't, you'll have a clear list of what to fix — whether you hire me to do it or not.
Custom website build
For new sites, or when an existing site has gone past the point of patching. Custom-built means:
- No WordPress, no Wix, no Squarespace. Your site won't get hacked through a plugin you forgot to update, and there are no monthly platform fees.
- Mobile-first, designed to load in under a second on a phone with bad signal — because that's where your customers actually are.
- Built around what your customers do — call you, find your address, see your hours, look at your work, get a quote. Not built around what looks fancy in a portfolio.
- Real local SEO baked in from day one — geo tags, structured data for local business, Google Business Profile alignment.
Most small business sites land between $1,500 and $5,000 for a complete build, with a fixed quote up front. Larger or more complex projects (member portals, custom integrations, e-commerce) get a custom estimate.
Timeline is typically 2 to 4 weeks from kickoff to launch, depending on scope and how quickly you can get me content like photos and copy. See how the process works →
Ongoing care
Once your site is live, it needs ongoing attention — security patches, small content updates, the occasional new page or feature as your business grows. Without that, sites get stale, slow, or vulnerable within a year or two.
Ongoing care is a flat monthly retainer that covers:
- Security updates and uptime monitoring
- Small content changes (text edits, new photos, hours updates)
- Minor design tweaks and improvements
- A monthly check-in on performance, search rankings, and analytics
- Priority response when something breaks
No surprise bills, no per-edit fees, no contracts that lock you in for a year. Cancel anytime.
What I don't do
To be straight with you: I'm one developer, not an agency. I don't do large-scale paid ad management, brand identity work from scratch, or copywriting as a standalone service. If you need those things, I can usually point you to someone good in Chattanooga who does.
